    Buyers #2

Now our new buyers want to push our close back to August.

August. It's March. That's a five month close.

They also tried to put in our contract that we would pay a point for their mortgage and more taxes than normal.

Pretty sneaky, sis. So, this contract may fall through too now.

    Oscar Review

Watched the Oscars last night, and I just have two comments.

    1) When they decided to put together a montage of famous film moments to remind us--the public--that seeing movies on DVD on your small TV screen is not as powerful as seeing them on the big screen in the theater...what were they thinking?

Did they not recognize that we--the public--don't actually get to go to the Oscars? We can only watch these "big powerful moments" that they've cobbled together to make this dramatic point...on our small TVs. Hmm.

    2) On the writing partnership of Diana Ossana and Larry McMurtry...I think her part of the partnership has to be to write all the bitter and angry scenes because those seems to be the only human emotions she's in touch with.

You just won an Oscar for crying out loud. Is it so hard to smile? Or even pretend to act honored, humble, or surprised, instead of expectant?

Look at that face she's making. Don't you just want to smack her?

    The weirdest luck ever.

Yesterday morning, when I woke up, I was annoyed at our homebuyers for A) backing out, and B) not having the courtesy to call us back when they said they would to clarify the fact that they were pulling out. I wouldn't care so much, but we had scheduled all of these showings with our realtor, and it's definitely not as much fun to look if you're not sure if you can buy.

So, around 8:30 am, there was this guy knocking on our front door. He saw the sign, and he and his wife have been looking in our neighborhood for a while, and he wanted to know the deal with our house.

I told him our bottom line, and explained that there were these other homebuyers that we were still negotiating with, and he said not to do anything until he could come back to us. Then, they came back that afternoon to see the place, and then half an hour later they came back with a contract (signed this time), and a check.

I don't know how this one is going to go, but how random is that?

Even if this one falls through, the fact that these people keep randomly coming out of the woodwork makes me think we should just keep the sign up, and do nothing else until one of them takes.
