    Interactive cable

So, I just watched the movie, "With Honors" with Brendan Fraser.
It's about this Harvard student who meets this homeless guy (Joe Pesci) and takes him in and learns life lessons (that you can't get at Harvard) from him. It's one of those movies that you don't intend to watch, but then it's on and you kind of wonder where it's going...and the next thing you know, it's over.

And, I'll admit, I may have gotten a little misty when Joe Pesci died. I hope I didn't ruin it for anyone. Joe Pesci dies.

But anyway, Brendan Fraser decided to write his thesis on "Interactive cable" and how it was going to save the world. Then they graduated. (Class of 1994--the year before me)

Could that be the Internet? When the hell was this movie written because we had email and stuff when I was in college, didn't we? Hasn't it been called the Internet forever? I can't remember.

Anyway. I thought that was kind of funny. But, also strangely impressed that the screenwriter thought that the Internet (before it was apparently even called the Internet) would have an impact on global economy.

Or is there such a thing as interactive cable?
