    The morning rush.

I slept on my arm last night and it fell completely asleep, so when I tried to turn off the alarm I'd somehow pinned my arm underneath myself. I ended up rolling over and trying to use my dead arm as a club on the snooze button...and then ten minutes later I was off and running.

Unfortunately that's off...and running because I'm totally late.

I got to the cab stand worried that I wasn't going to make my train, and in my rush to get out of the cab at the station I knocked my wallet off my lap, dropping every credit card, business card, frequent flyer and Oberweis Moo-lah ice cream discount card out onto the floor. I can't pry those cards out of my wallet fast enough when I need them, but one little bump and they are out and circulating like Bode Miller in Sestriere.

Assessment: Lost $20, my bank card, and my house keys. Still have Moo-lah card. (Thank God.)

The highlight of the morning, though, was when my friend Sal picked me up at the station. He's been so great doing this favor for me, so I thought the least I could do was channel Cheerleader Heather, paste a smile on my face and wave, despite the way the morning was unfolding.

But, I'm sitting there, waving with two arms, like I'm waving in a 747, and then as I get closer I suddenly realize that it's totally not his car I'm waving at. It's identical, only this car has two morbidly obese people in it, making out like one of them was leaving for war...

...and that is now indelibly burned into my retinas.
